What to know as a First Time Visitor
Visiting a Greek Orthodox Church for the first time can feel both inspiring and a little unfamiliar. At Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Scottsdale, Arizona, we want everyone to feel welcome, whether you are exploring the Orthodox Christian faith, attending with family, or simply curious about our worship. Below are some helpful things to know before you join us for Divine Liturgy, the central worship service of the Orthodox Church.
Faith in Action
Faith in Action invites young adults to deepen their understanding of Orthodox Christianity through learning, fellowship, and service. Whether you’re new to the faith or seeking to grow in your spiritual journey, our Young Adult Forum and Catechism Classes offer meaningful opportunities to explore Scripture, discuss real-life applications of faith, and connect with others walking the same path toward Christ. Together, we learn not just to believe—but to live our faith in action.
Q&A with Fathers A&J
Are you curious about the Orthodox faith or have questions about parish life at Assumption? Join us for a relaxed and welcoming Question & Answer session with Father Andrew and Father Jacob every Sunday after Divine Liturgy in the Community Center. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Orthodoxy, explore the faith, and engage in open conversation in a friendly, informal setting. Notecards will be available for you to submit questions anonymously, so feel free to ask anything that’s on your mind. Come, grab a cup of coffee, and join the discussion!
